SERMON NOTES
PART 1
God loved the world, so he gave. All of us have gifts given to us by God, and all of us have the call to use those gifts to build His Kingdom. Learn the biblical foundation of serving others and God will help you have greatness, promotion, and prominence through serving others. We believe, as you read these notes, God’s Word is working in and through you.
Servanthood looks like:
-Jesus is Lord over your life
-Surrender my will to God’s will
-Faithful to the work Jesus has given me
-Discover and use gifts and talents to benefit other people
-Have the attitude of Christ
Mark 10:43-45 (TPT) 43 You are to lead by a different model. If you want to be the greatest, then live as one called to serve others. 44 The path to promotion comes by having the heart of a bond-slave who serves everyone. 45 For even the Son of Man did not come expecting to be served by everyone, but to serve everyone, and to give his life as the ransom price for the salvation of many.
-When you and I are giving and serving, that is when we are most like God
-God wants us to be great at what we do
-Serving is a calling
-The path to greatness, promotion, and prominence comes from a right heart
Philippians 2:3-5 (AMP) 3 Do nothing from factional motives [through contentiousness, strife, selfishness, or for unworthy ends] or prompted by conceit and empty arrogance. Instead, in the true spirit of humility (lowliness of mind) let each regard the others as better than and superior to himself [thinking more highly of one another than you do of yourselves]. 4 Let each of you esteem and look upon and be concerned for not [merely] his own interests, but also each for the interests of others. 5 Let this same attitude and purpose and [humble] mind be in you which was in Christ Jesus: [Let Him be your example in humility:]
Romans 12:10-11 (TPT) 10 Be devoted to tenderly loving your fellow believers as members of one family. Try to outdo yourselves in respect and honor of one another. 11 Be enthusiastic to serve the Lord, keeping your passion toward him boiling hot! Radiate with the glow of the Holy Spirit and let him fill you with excitement as you serve him.
-Be enthusiastic to serve the Lord
-Serving unto the Lord you will never be disappointed
-When we get involved, the Holy Spirit gets involved

Philippians 2:3-8 (AMP) 3 Do nothing from factional motives [through contentiousness, strife, selfishness, or for unworthy ends] or prompted by conceit and empty arrogance.
John 13:13-17 (AMP) 23 And Jesus answered them, saying, The hour is come, that the Son of man should be glorified. 24 Verily, verily, I say unto you, Except a corn of wheat fall into the ground and die, it abideth alone: but if it die, it bringeth forth much fruit. 25 He that loveth his life shall lose it; and he that hateth his life in this world shall keep it unto life eternal. 26 If any man serve me, let him follow me; and where I am, there shall also my servant be: if any man serve me, him will my Father honour.
- Find your place to serve in the kingdom of God
John 12:23-26 (KJV) 23 And Jesus answered them, saying, The hour is come, that the Son of man should be glorified.
Until we surrender to God, we will never find the true life God has for us.
